Hey guys, I’m happy to tell you that 2016 is shaping up to be a great one already!

I’ve partnered up with some great instructors to bring you 3 new online courses in Q1, 2016. Here’s what’s coming:

EMC Troubleshooting and Pre-Compliance Testing For Product Designers

Learn how to solve EMC/EMI failures and perform cost effective pre-compliance testing with the widely respected troubleshooting expert Kenneth Wyatt.

Kenneth has been in the industry for over 20 years, having previously worked as a senior EMC engineer at HP.

His specialty is EMI troubleshooting and is a co-author of the popular EMC Pocket Guide and RFI Radio Frequency Interference Pocket Guide and he recently coauthored the book with Patrick André, EMI Troubleshooting Cookbook for Product Designers, with forward by Henry Ott.

He has been published in magazines such as, RF Design, Test & Measurement World, EMC Design & Test, Electronic Design, EDN, InCompliance, Interference Technology, Microwave Journal, HP Journal and several others. He currently authors The EMC Blog for EDN.com and manages the EMC Troubleshooter’s group on LinkedIn.

In this 8 hour course, delivered at about 1 hour per week, Ken is going to teach you some hard learned lessons so that you can take the shortcut to EMC compliance.

For the first time ever, you can get access to professional online training in EMC troubleshooting.

This is a great opportunity to learn from the EMC troubleshooting expert!

Intrinsically Safe (IS) Hardware Design

We’ve branched out into design for safety compliance here, with expert designer Jason Long.

Jason has been designing (and certifying) intrinsically safe products for 15 years.

He’s condensed his years of knowledge into this comprehensive 20+ hour online course on intrinsically safe design.

This is going to help you to design products that meet and exceed the 60079 series of Hazardous Location certification standards for UL/CSA, IEC and ATEX certification.

A very in-demand skillset – consultants are typically hard to find and often charge well in excess of $100/h for their time. By taking this course, you can be confident in designing your own intrinsically safe devices, so you can save the consulting fees and keep the specialized knowledge in house!

Antenna Matching

There are several whitepapers and app notes available for antenna matching, but do any of them show you step-by-step how to actually perform the measurements? No!

This short course walks you through the equipment you’ll need and the methods to tune your RF antenna.

A well tuned antenna means you can transmit and receive from further away and also your comms link will be more robust.

Learn from veteran RF designer and consultant Lee Vishloff on how it’s done!

Looking forward to 2016

So, I hope you’re excited as I am for the 2016 training line up!

Keep your eye out for some more exciting developments at EMC FastPass in the very near future 😉
